The Search tool that comes with Windows is very useful, allowing you to look for any file and folder, just by entering a part of its name. The problem with the search tool which is included in Windows is that it can take very long time to look for a specific item. At the same time, the indexing service, which helps improve the search speed, may take a lot of system resources. On the other hand, Everything is different from the Windows search utility, as it allows you to look for files and folders in real time, without even using an indexing service.

After installing and launching the program, the user will be presented with a simple and intuitive interface, in which he will only need to type the name of the file or folder he is looking for. As the user types, all the files and folders which correspond to the search string will be displayed in real-time. After the user has found the desired files and folders, he can export the search results to a regular text file, for future analysis.

A feature which makes Everything different from any other search utility is the HTTP and FTP built-in servers, which allow you to access your files and folders from any Internet location, offering you the same search functionality just like using the actual application. Unfortunately, the configuration window which corresponds to these features may pose problems to inexperienced computer users, as some features may be more difficult to understand.

Pros

It allows you to look for files and folders in real time, without using an indexing service. Besides that, search results can be exported to regular text files. What's more, it includes a FTP and HTTP server, which can be thoroughly configured, allowing you to access your files from any Internet location.

Cons

The configuration window for the FTP and HTTP server may be difficult to understand by some users. Everything allows you to quickly find any desired file and folder located on the hard disk, by displaying search results in real-time.
